Visual, UX/UI, Core Features, Improvements

That's exactly what I thought when our client first came to us with their idea. They were a passionate foodie duo that wanted to build a platform allowing other foodies to bring attention to their favorite spots. As one would expect, one of the biggest problems was differentiating from Yelp.

The solution involved a shift in perspective. Instead of reviewing places to eat, users would instead "Recommend" a place. This implied that every restaurant featured on the site would be one endorsed by someone. Instead of focusing on the negative aspects like many reviewers do, AATL would encourage visitors to highlight the best things about a favorite spot.
